“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38
The need for called individuals to take up the work is felt by all those in ministry. If you would like some more statistics on the need for laborers visit our about page. In light of this reality, we must first respond as scripture asks us to. Pray. Join us in prayer for those in our communities, state, and world to answer the call. Visit our prayer resources below and our recommendation to set apart a Sunday to emphasize prayer and celebrate God’s calling.
Prayer Guide & Other Resources
How Can You Pray?
- Pray for those who have not responded to their calling.
- For those who are coming to understand, but fear they’re unqualified.
- For those who have clearly heard the call, but who are still resisting. This may due to fear or concerns about their families.
- Pray for those who need their circumstances at work to change just enough to make this possible.
- Families must share the call. Ask God to assure the hearts of their wives as they affirm the call. Ask God to give them a realistic picture of what it will be like and to show them why the sacrifices will be worth it.
- Ask God to send them confirming voices and confirming circumstances.
- Ask God to clarify the vision of the people He is calling to this work.
- Pray for your church to identify, disciple, and support those in your church and community that have responded to calling from God.
